Many users grapple with whether to use Notion for quick tasks and simple checklists, or stick to a minimal tool like Todoist. By adding Todoist to Notion, you can use both apps together, in a single place.

• Notion pitches itself as a dedicated task management app as well. While it’s not as feature-rich as rivals like Things 3, Todoist, Microsoft Tasks, and more, you can use the.
• Connect Notion and Todoist with your other cloud apps and run workflows. Integrate Notion and Todoist the way you want. Stay on top of your task list by automatically creating, updating and organizing them in Todoist.
• Download the extension (you’ll see a Todoist icon in the top right-hand corner of your browser window when it’s installed). While browsing the web page you want to add to Todoist, right click and choose Add to Todoist. A new task will be created linking back to the web page. Later, simply click the task name to revisit the page.

Notion came out as the best way to replace your need for tools like Evernote, Trello, Google Docs, Asana, Quip, Todoist. It makes them redundant as it manages to bring them all into one application. Notion allows easy attachment of images and PDFs, and other typical files such as videos. However, there are a couple things I need to highlight for a better user experience. Notion allows embedding of internet content such as tweets. Such embedding loads slowly when you open the note that holds the embedded file.

This is accomplished with Notion’s Embed block, which can display Todoist’s web app. Within a certain width, your lists will display just as you’d see them on a mobile device. The Neutral theme pairs particularly nicely with Notion.

Initial configuration can be a bit tricky, however. Here’s the method that works most smoothly across devices:

1. Where you’d like to display Todoist within any Notion page, insert a new block and choose Embed.
2. Paste Todoist’s sign-in URL:
   https://todoist.com/users/showLogin
   Choose Embed link.
3. On every device where you’ll view Todoist within Notion, sign in. Note that sign-in by Google will not work; you’ll need to use a password.
4. On any device, change the embedded link to https://todoist.com. To do so, click the top-right corner of the block and choose Replace.
5. Resize and rearrange your blocks for the most usable and pleasing aesthetic.

A highlighter can be very helpful to mark important text or quotes from lecture notes. Instead of using a standard highlighter with yellow background, Notion allows you to use ones with various color backgrounds.

Simply put the cursor at the start of the text you want to highlight and use the ‘/’ command to search for different color backgrounds.

2. Create Weekly Agenda

Notion offers a built-in Weekly Agenda template to help you plan a busy week. That can be useful for students to plan their schedule to manage their assignment submissions and exam deadlines. While you are at it, don’t forget to use the color background trick to mark the priority tasks and separate them from other tasks.

5. Create Custom Templates

With custom templates, you can easily replicate content combinations you frequently use in Notion.

For example, you want to generate the same to-do list at the start of every week. You can also build a custom finance tracker per your usages and reuse it every month.

6. Explore Google Drive Integration

Google’s productivity suite of apps plays a major role for any student. The good news is, Notion works perfectly fine with some of the popular Google services such as Google Drive and Docs.
